Equine Reproduction Video Series

Equine vets, check out our short, free ‘how-to’ video series giving an introduction to ultrasonography of the equine mare’s reproductive tract. The videos, by our in-house veterinary clinical team, give an excellent ‘step-by-step’ guide to scanning the mare reproductive tract including the uterus, the ovaries and pregnancy diagnosis.

Video 1

In this first video of the four-part video series from IMV imaging (previously known as BCF Technology), we take a look at the appearance of the uterus, including the uterine body and both the left and right uterine horns.

Video 2

In video two of the four-part series from IMV imaging (previously BCF Technology) we will look at the ovaries, including finding them and examining commonly found ovarian structures of the mare.

Video 3

In the penultimate video of the four-part series from IMV imaging (previously BCF Technology) we will look at finding and identifying an embryo. It is common practice to perform an initial pregnancy scan anywhere between 14 and 18 days following ovulation.

Video 4

In the final video of the four-part series from IMV imaging (previously known as BCF Technology) we will look at finding and identifying the later embryo and a heartbeat. It is common practice to perform a pregnancy scan anywhere from 24 days following ovulation to evaluate the pregnancy for a heartbeat and to confirm a viable pregnancy.
